Deepening
Our
Prayers

Heart
of our hearts,
Soul
of our souls,
Take
our prayers
And
use them to draw us closer to You.
Prayer
is about meeting God.
In
praying for the world, we meet God in times of deepest thanksgiving, and
deepest despair.
We
come face to face with the moments when the last thing we want to do is pray.
We
struggle through wondering if prayer really matters
…and
why bad things happen
…and
what God does with the fervent prayers of our enemies.
If we are willing to listen, praying for the world becomes
a
loving course in prayer itself.
If we are willing to listen, it brings us into the deepest love and knowledge
of
the One who made all things that are, and ever will be.
In
early 2005, the creator of World In
Prayer was invited to teach an online course on “Praying for the World” for

A word about the music links above: In a live classroom, we could have played recordings of the hymns and folk songs mentioned in the class materials, and there would have been no violation of copyright laws. But this is an electronic classroom. So, we’ve compromised. We’ve posted the music on the website—but only identified them by number, so as to minimize the chance of them being illegally passed around on a file-sharing network. The music titles and sources are listed in Appendix B. If you find that you like one or more of them, please support the artists by buying the recordings legally!
We welcome your comments on this web site
